1. Storage / Organizers:

Investing in storage bins and organizers will make your life a thousand times easier. Packing up your entire closet and bringing it to school can be overwhelming. With bins and organizers, you can keep everything together and feel more at peace. Storage carts are a new trend that not only look nice, but are practical too. These carts are also versatile, looking stylish in any room you see fit (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, etc.)

2. Decor

Hands down the most exciting part of setting up your new apartment: decorating! Get creative and choose decor and accessories to help show off your own unique and individual style. A brand new apartment is an opportunity to define what kind of style you want to go for. Whether that be boho, modern, minimal, sophisticated, the choice is completely up to you.

Homesickness is a difficult feeling that every college student will experience at one point or another. By making your room cozy and adding personal items, it can help you feel more relaxed and at home. In order to bring your place to life and feel like you, consider the following:

3. Kitchen Items

If you plan on living with roommates, be sure to communicate with each other on what items you’re all bringing. One way to distinguish who is bringing what is creating a “kitchen items checklist” and dividing the items evenly, taking into consideration the quantity and cost of items. More expensive purchases like toaster ovens and air fryers should be split up amongst all of you to ensure it is fair.

Once you have your list, start a group chat with your roommates so you can discuss and check off the things you have and still need. This way, there will be no miscommunications, repeats, or forgotten about items.

Kitchen Checklist:

  • Plates, bowls, cups
  • Silverware Set
  • Tupperware
  • Knife set
  • Toaster oven
  • Air fryer
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Measuring Cups
  • Keurig or Nespresso machine
